freecores.com – Google has announced that some users of the Gmail app on iOS can now interact directly with the Gemini chatbot. This feature, known as Gmail Q&A, was initially launch for Android users in August 2024.
According to TechCrunch on October 8, 2024, this feature is available to iOS users who subscribe to Google One AI Premium or have a Google Workspace account with the Gemini Business, Enterprise, or Education add-ons.
With this functionality, users can ask specific questions about their emails in Gmail. For instance, they might inquire, “What was the company’s expense for the last marketing event?”
Users can also request Gemini to display unread messages from specific senders.
Additionally, they can ask for summaries of emails related to specific topics in their inbox, such as, “Please summarize the emails regarding quarterly planning.”
While traditional search features in Gmail will remain, a Gemini button will now appear next to the search bar.
The aim of this feature is to encourage users to utilize AI when searching for specific information in their emails, rather than relying solely on manual searches.
However, it seems that Gmail Q&A will not be available for free Gmail users in the near future, as Google promotes this feature to encourage subscriptions to its monthly services.
Like many other tech companies, Google has been incorporating AI features across its products, including Google Docs, Gmail, Google Calendar, and more.
The rollout of this feature follows the introduction of updated summary cards in Gmail the previous day, making it easier for users to manage their inboxes, track packages, check flight statuses, set reminders, mark bills as paid, and more directly from the email application.

Previously, Google allowed users to utilize the Gemini AI chatbot to ask questions about their inbox on the web version of Gmail. Now, this feature has been made available for Android users as well.
The company announce that Gmail Q&A is being roll out for Android, with plans to bring the feature to the iOS version of Gmail soon.
As reported by The Verge on August 30, 2024, Gmail Q&A enables users to ask Gemini about various aspects of their emails.
According to a Google blog post, users can request Gemini to show unread messages, check for messages from specific senders, or summarize emails on particular topics in their inbox.
This feature can be especially beneficial for users looking to locate messages that may have been buried in their inbox for a long time.
Unfortunately, this feature is not available for all Gmail users for free. The Verge notes that users need to subscribe to Google One AI Premium or a Google Workspace plan with Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, or Education Premium add-ons to access it.
The Google Q&A feature began rolling out last Thursday, with Google stating it might take up to 15 days for the feature to appear in users’ Gmail accounts.
With the various generative AI tools available, users should always verify the output from Gemini to ensure the AI is providing accurate information rather than fabricating details.
