Once the article is open, slide the Smart Functions sidebar at the top right of the screen. Several options will appear, including AI Speak and AI Summary.
To use this reading feature, select the AI Speak option on the Oppo Reno12. The feature will then scan the content of the open article.
Once the scanning is complete, AI Speak will read the article aloud. Users can choose the preferred news reader’s voice male or female.
Additionally, there are other options such as a pause button to halt reading, fast forward, and rewind buttons. Users can also replay and adjust the reading speed.
Notably, this feature continues to function even if the app is close, appearing as a floating icon on the screen.

Oppo Indonesia has officially launched the Reno12 Series 5G in the country. This smartphone, featuring a durable body and display, starts at a price of IDR 6.9 million.
Two models are released in this series: the Oppo Reno12 Pro 5G and the Oppo Reno12 5G.
The Oppo Reno12 5G comes in two memory options: 12GB RAM + 256GB internal storage priced at IDR 6,999,000, and a version with 12GB RAM + 512GB internal storage priced at IDR 7,999,000.
The premium model, the Reno12 Pro 5G, is available in a single configuration: 12GB RAM + 512GB internal storage priced at IDR 8,999,000.
Targeting Gen Z and professional users, the Oppo Reno12 Series 5G highlights generative AI features.
Oppo Indonesia’s PR Manager, Arga Bima Jaksana Putra, stated that Oppo is committe to making AI accessible to more people, not just in flagship smartphones.
“The Reno12 Series introduces a range of generative AI features that simplify everyday usage,” Arga said during the Reno12 Series 5G launch in Jakarta on July 31, 2024.
The device’s performance and AI capabilities are partly due to the MediaTek 7300 Energy chipset.
Some AI features include enhancements for photo quality, such as AI Eraser 2.0, which allows users to remove unwanted people from photos.
“AI Eraser 2.0 has improve from the previous version, where users had to circle the object to be remove. Now, it can be done with just a single touch,” Arga explained.
This is possible thanks to the ability to automatically identify unwanted people and objects.
