Unlike the V40 series launch in China, only the Vivo V40 variant will be available in Indonesia. “This is the first V series model to incorporate Zeiss technology, previously only available in our flagship V Pro and X series,” said Alexa Tiara, PR Manager at Vivo Indonesia, during a media briefing in Jakarta on August 29, 2024.
The Vivo V series is design for young users seeking a phone with excellent camera capabilities, appealing design, and strong everyday performance.
The new Vivo V40 features a dual-camera system with a 50MP ZEISS OIS main lens and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens. For selfies, it boasts a 50MP Zeiss lens.
Notable Zeiss technologies in the V40 include Multifocal Portrait, previously exclusive to the X100 series, and Zeiss Cinematic Portrait.
“Zeiss Cinematic Portrait will add a bokeh effect to videos recorded with the rear camera of the Vivo V40,” she added.
Additionally, the Vivo V40 is equip with IP69 certification. “IP69 ensures the V40 can withstand certain water pressures and endure hot water temperatures from 40 to 80 degrees Celsius,” explained Alexa.
As with other Vivo Android series, this new phone supports AI Aura Light Portrait and runs on Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14.
The Vivo V40 is power by a 5,500mAh battery. The largest ever installed in a V series phone, and supports 80W FlashCharge fast charging.
Available in three colors—Chrome Purple, Platinum Silver, and Ceramic Peach. The Vivo V40 is priced higher than the V30 series but below the flagship models.

Vivo is also rumor to launch their new flagship X200 series in October 2024. Leaks about the Vivo X200’s specifications have started circulating online.
According to well-known leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS) on Weibo. The Vivo X200 series will be the first to use the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset.
DCS has mentioned that the X200 series will come in two models with distinct features. The standard X200 will have a 6.4-inch or 6.5-inch display. While the X200 Pro will feature a 6.7-inch screen and a 6,000mAh battery.
Concerns have been raised about the impact of this large battery on the phone’s thickness and weight. DCS has suggested that Vivo should use fiberglass material similar to that of the X Fold 3 to address this.
In terms of display, the X200 Pro is expect to have a 2K resolution screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display may feature a micro-curved design on all four sides and include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for added security.
The X200 Pro’s camera setup will include a 50MP Sony sensor with a large 1/1.28-inch size. With a wide f/1.57 aperture. This main sensor will be pair with a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a high-resolution 200MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom. Despite these enticing specs, Vivo has yet to confirm the details of the X200 Pro officially.
